How to Prepare for an Interview?
Interviewing for a job can be intimidating, but it doesn't have to be. The first step is knowing what you're getting yourself into. Read on to learn about the interview process and how it can help you land your dream job.
What is an interview?
An interview is when a potential employer asks questions about you and your skills, experience, and knowledge in order to assess whether or not you're the best fit for their company. The most common types of interviews include phone calls, one-on-one meetings in person, panel interviews where multiple people ask questions at the same time (like a job fair), and group interviews where candidates are interviewed by multiple people at once.
Why do companies interview people?
Companies want to hire people who will perform well at their jobs and stay with them long term. They also want people who are good fits with their culture and values as an organization—and they want people who enjoy working there! The best way for employers to figure out if someone is right for them is by asking questions during an interview so they can understand more about each candidate's personality and work habits before making any decisions on hiring them officially
What should I wear?
I think it's important to keep in mind that you're not the only person who's nervous at the start of a job interview. The interviewer is probably just as nervous as you are—if not more so! So don't worry about what they're wearing. They're probably thinking "I hope they like my outfit!" just as much as you are.
The next thing I'd say is to make sure your clothes fit well and flatter your figure. It's hard to feel confident and relaxed if you're worried about whether or not your pants are too tight or your shirt is pulling across your chest. Hire an image consultant if you need help figuring out what looks best on you!
The dress code at Google is pretty casual. If you're unsure about what to wear, just come as you are!
Do I need to bring anything?
You'll be asked to bring a laptop with your resume installed on it as well as a pen and paper to take notes with. You can also bring a portfolio if you have something specific you want to show off, but this isn't necessary.
